    • 27  April “Winter in Norway”   
      Presenters:  Stephen and Ann Jones

      This journey details a 4 week exploration of Norway including 10 days sailing up the west coast of Norway, and visiting places only accessible by sea in Winter. It also included rail journeys to cities and UNESCO world heritage sites as well as time visiting Oslo and its famous museums.


       25  May.    Bullock Teams.

        The talk will cover early settlement of the Northern  area and the role that bullock teams played in carrying wool and wheat to Lawrence for shipping to markets and returning with equipment and suoplies for the settlers and residents of the gold fields around Drake and nearby Pretty Gully. Keith’s mother’s family had bullock teams and as a young boy  he experienced  some marvellous adventures at Busby’s Flat which was on the track from Tenterfield to Lawrence

    • 22  June.    A Stroll around the Block.   
      Presenter:  Robyn Braithwaite

      Robbie's book "A Stroll Around The Block" is a historical guide to Lismore's CBD heritage, specifically of the four main streets.  The talk will consist of a brief overview of the evolution of the book, followed by a detailed historical examination of two selected sites in Woodlark Street. It will include fascinating stories of the people and businesses involved with the sites over 150 years, and will be illustrated with many historical images. 

      Robbie's interest in Lismore and its past first led her to join Richmond River Historical Society shortly after she arrived twenty years ago. She has held a number of roles in the Society including President and Vice-President and is currently Secretary.


At Tuesday with U3A will be face-to-face once a month each term for the remainder of 2021 but members are encouraged to join in with a Zoom conversation on other weeks at 2 pm
